We finally got on snow this week (hopefully middle school did this weekend)! What a great time we had this week with the high schoolers that could join us. You did so well getting to practice and adjusting to the new schedule in an ever changing schedule. We saw some great work out of our veterans who were excited for some snow!
Also, you all did great working hard with perseverance in tougher practice conditions on Wednesday/Thursday in the thin natural snow and cold. I was so proud of you keeping good attitudes and working through tough circumstances. It will help us ski faster, but it also proved that you can do hard things. When tough circumstances come in life, remember to keep a good attitude, lean on the people around you, and dig in just like you did this week.
Beginners, you also showed tons of perseverance all week. You are learning something new and that is never easy and always comes with lots of challenges. You all had great attitudes all week. You are starting to understand that you need to take constant criticism as we will continue to try our best to help ALL of you learn this challenging sport in the coming week.
A few reminders:
1. The schedule is all updated. We have after school practice/meet every day except thursday. Be sure to arrive and get on snow as early as you can. Any time on snow is valuable. Be sure to read the details for the practices
2. On Wednesday, we have a meet. The start lists will come later in the week.
***If you are a beginner, we would love for you to ski in the meet. If you decide to race, remember it is just a good starting point for us and a good chance to continuously ski and have fun. We do not expect greatness. We know you are new and learning. We only have 5 regular season meets, so participating in as many of them as possible would be great. If you are feeling overwhelmed by skiing in a race, let us know by the end practice Monday. You should still come and ski at Hyland, but do not need to race.
- Middle schoolers for the meet, we will pick you up with the bus, but you need to a note from your parents to get out of class early. Look at the pick up times and have your parents write a note to leave class 10-15 minutes before the pick up times.
- high schoolers, we will email your teachers that you can leave 6th hour at 1:35, so we can be on the bus and leaving at 1:50.
- EVERYONE needs to fill out the Bussing form here. We only have 1 bus planned for the meet on Wednesday so we want to know how many people will be on it and if we need to order another.
https://forms.gle/KSucsctbrJB9qpDL9As always, please feel free to email me if you have any questions or send me a message in HelloTeam as many have started to do. Those are great ways to get your questions answered. See you all on the snow on Monday!
