2nd week!

16 Nov by Matt Gifford

Hey everyone, great first week! We had a great time getting to know all of you and getting this team rolling for a fun and exciting year. We have a very fun-loving, yet hard working group! I am excited to see where the season takes us,
Take full advantage of these first weeks. These weeks are especially fun because we are all together and we get to spend extra time getting to know one another. I wanted to reach out and just remind you of a few things since we have a lot of moving parts at the beginning of the season.
1. The practice schedule for the week is updated. We are outside for the majority of the week. We are Nordic anyway, so being outside is good for us. It will be a nice week though.
2, We would like all skis ready to ski by week 3 because we believe Elm Creek will have some ski-able snow by the end of that week. Anyone that does not have their skis waxed yet, you will take care of that after practice if possible on TUESDAY and THURSDAY this week.
3. Speaking of skiing, we will be ordering passes Monday for everyone that has paid for the passes by the morning. So if you have not paid for your ski pass, please access the important links doc I posted last week. It is the booster fee QR code and info.
4. Veterans that have roller skis and want to roller ski throughout the week, please talk to the coaches and see when it would be appropriate to do so. We won’t be roller skiing as a group, but we would love for some of you to roller ski for parts of practices if you have a group and want to do that.
5. Speaking of roller skiing, If you still have your rentals from the summer, you need to bring them to me (Giff) or coach Heaton tomorrow.
6. Clothing – The clothing store is linked in the news tab. Nothing is required, but we would love for you to be able to wear your Nordic gear if you want it. The store closes on Thursday, so get that stuff ordered up!
7. If your friends want to join us, they still can, but we recommend them making that decision by the middle of this week.
8. Please take a look at the Nordic Kick off event that we have on Wednesday as well! If should be fun taking some time to share a meal together, but you can also meet us coaches and get some good information about the season and what to expect!
9. Lastly, practices will likely be done a little sooner rather than later this week. They will likely be done more like 4:15-4:25 depending on the day.
10. If you have yet to join Hello team, you need to find the news article labeled hello team and get signed up.

As always, if you have questions, email me (coach Gifford) giffordm@district279.org. I want to make sure everyone is aware of where to go and what to do!

Let’s have a great second week!

Giff
